Cleaners in Poundbury, Dorset

Poundbury is our home base. We work the streets every week — Queen Mother Square, Pummery Square, the Buttermarket, Crown Square, the Engine Room, the architecture-led mix of family townhouses, period mews, larger detached homes and apartments above the commercial frontages. The development was masterplanned by Léon Krier for the Duchy of Cornwall starting in 1993 and is being completed in phases through to 2028, so the housing stock runs from newly-finished interiors to homes that have been lived in for thirty years.

It's an unusual brief for a cleaner. The classical façades and quality finishes — Bath-stone-inspired render, brass fittings, hardwood floors, natural materials — reward a team that takes care of detail. Dorchester sits on chalk so the water is among the hardest in the UK at around 300 ppm, which means limescale is the recurring issue in bathrooms and kitchens. Eight miles inland from the coast, salt-air corrosion isn't a factor here, which we always have to flag for customers comparing us with cleaners on the Weymouth seafront.
